Bentley’s Taste of the Ocean Fish Dog Food

Our Biologically Appropriate food doesn’t begin at our manufacturers, but at trusted farms and fisheries, where only the finest fresh meats and fish are collected to ensure excellent provenance and traceability.

Using the Freshtrusion™ process, we gently cook each meat at around 82°C (180°F) to protect the proteins and ensure maximum digestibility and nutritional value to your pet.

With high quality, highly nourishing protein and lower carbohydrates, the Bentley’s ‘Taste of’ range nourishes dogs of all breeds and life stages based on their biological and nutritional needs.

BENTLEY’S Taste of the Ocean is the UK’s first 82.5%/17.5%, complete premium grain free dry fish dog food with well balanced nutrition. It contains high levels of quality protein to resemble a dog’s natural ancestral diet.

Kibble size measures approximately 20mm x 14mm with a depth of 8mm. The tolerance of this size can change by +/- 1.5mm. Our kibble has purposely been designed this size to encourage crunching, which in turn helps keep teeth clean and promote better oral hygiene. We have all breeds from Chihuahuas to Great Danes enjoying our Taste of the Ocean, so the kibble size should only be a consideration for dogs with a severe lack of teeth.

  • A nutritionally balanced complete food with a high-level quality protein, to closely match a dogs natural ancestral diet
  • Cereal, Grain, Gluten and Dairy free to eliminate possible causes of allergies
  • Low Carbohydrate formulation with less than 20% fruit and vegetables
  • Suitable for all life stages; in a dogs natural habitat there is no such thing as ‘puppy’, ‘junior’, ‘adult’, ‘senior’, ‘light’ or ‘diet’ food
  • Proportionally balanced quality Omega 3 & 6
We are a small UK based independent family business, passionate about dogs and believe your pets deserve the best. That is why we use this latest unique technology to produce the very best.

Freshtrusion™ Process

The Freshtrusion™ process has revolutionised the pet food industry. Investing in technology as part of this process is the driving force behind providing the best quality, freshest meats for your dogs diet. The meat is collected in refrigerated transport from farms and fisheries we know and trust. After undergoing extensive quality testing, the meat is gently cooked at 82ºC  to protect the proteins and ensure maximum digestibility. Just some of the benefits of using this process as opposed to traditional methods include:

  • Higher nutrient bio-availability
  • Higher digestibility
  • Protected proteins
  • Better health through better nutrition
  • Better density of kibble
  • Fuller flavour
  • Reduced spoilage

Introducing Bentley’s to your Dog

Begin feeding with the minimal amount recommended for the size of your dog. Due to Bentley’s being high quality and packed full of all the nutrients your dog needs, the quantity may be less than your dog usually has.

Because of its high meat (82½%) and high protein (42.5%) content, you should introduce BENTLEY’S gradually as follows:

First Few Days: Feed 20% BENTLEY’S to 80% of your current brand

Providing toileting is acceptable you can increase the ratio every 2/3 days by 20% each time until you reach 100% i.e. 20/80, 40/60, 60/40, 80/20.

During the changeover, if you are unhappy with your dog’s stools, we recommend that you maintain the current BENTLEY’S/usual brand food ratio until they become ‘normal’.  Due to the richness and quality of Bentley’s, you may find stools are a softer than usual for the first day or so. Do not worry, as this is quite normal while the dog’s body adjusts to the food.

Once settled on BENTLEY’S, you should check your dog’s weight often and adjust the food portions in line with their current weight.

Resist the temptation to overfeed your dog – this may result in loose stools and an overweight dog, which can also lead to health issues.

Feeding Bentley’s to Puppies

Introduce BENTLEY’S to puppies from about 8 weeks.

Mix a small amount with hot water, mix into a paste and cool before serving. Introduce the dry kibble after a few days.

Up to 12 weeks old ensure that food is always available for the puppy to eat. After 12 weeks introduce timed feeds.

All dogs are different, this dog feeding guide is a good source of information as a starting point. You must monitor changes in weight and consistency of your dog’s stools and adjust feeding accordingly.
