Introducing Bentley’s to your Dog
Begin feeding with the minimal amount recommended for the size of your dog. Due to Bentley’s being high quality and packed full of all the nutrients your dog needs, the quantity may be less than your dog usually has.
Because of its high meat (82½%) and high protein (40%) content, you should introduce BENTLEY’S gradually as follows:
First Few Days: Feed 20% BENTLEY’S to 80% of your current brand
Providing toileting is acceptable you can increase the ratio every 2/3 days by 20% each time until you reach 100% i.e. 20/80, 40/60, 60/40, 80/20.
During the changeover, if you are unhappy with your dog’s stools, we recommend that you maintain the current BENTLEY’S/usual brand food ratio until they become ‘normal’. Due to the richness and quality of Bentley’s, you may find stools are a softer than usual for the first day or so. Do not worry, as this is quite normal while the dog’s body adjusts to the food.
Once settled on BENTLEY’S, you should check your dog’s weight often and adjust the food portions in line with their current weight.
Resist the temptation to overfeed your dog – this may result in loose stools and an overweight dog, which can also lead to health issues.
